Guan-Wei Ho is a PhD student in the History of Art at ������ý of Art, supervised by Professor Stephen Whiteman and advised by Dr Wenny Teo.

My research focuses on the Taiwanese artist Yen Shui-long (1903–1997), examining the intersections of craft, modernity, and indigeneity in twentieth-century Taiwan. My doctoral project investigates how craft functioned as a medium through which modern lifestyles, cultural identities, and political ideologies were articulated across colonial and postwar contexts. Situating Taiwan within a transnational framework connecting Japan and Europe, I explore how global modernisms were mediated and reconfigured through processes of cultural translation.
