Emma P. Holter is the 2025-2027 Samuel H. Kress Institutional Fellow at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ of Art and a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Art History at Temple University. Her doctoral dissertation explores drawing, underdrawing, and monochromatic painting practices in late fifteenth- and early sixteenth-century Venice. Emma graduatedÌýmagna cum laudeÌýfrom New York University with a B.A. in Art History, and earned her M.A. with High Distinction from the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Institute of Art. Her M.A. dissertation on the draughtsmanship of Giovanni Bellini—which was awarded The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Director’s Prize for Outstanding Dissertation—was published in the volumeÌýVenetian Disegno: New FrontiersÌý(Paul Holberton Press, 2024). She has held curatorial and research roles at The Frick Collection, Sotheby’s, The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Gallery, and the Princeton University Art Museum.
