HerÌýRoyalÌýHighness, The Princess Royal, visited The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ yesterday (12 June) in her role as Chancellor of the University of London to launch the Founders’ Circle, a prestigious new society to recognise benefactors who have made truly outstanding contributions to The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. The Founders’ Circle is named in honour of the institution’s three founders, who established The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ in 1932 through their visionary philanthropy.
The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½’s Märit Rausing Director, Professor Deborah Swallow, led HRH on a tour of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ highlighting the many achievements since her last visit in 2008. The ChancellorÌýmet staff and students from across The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ andÌýwas given a presentation on ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Connects, a transformational projectÌýthat will significantly redevelop The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s historic home at Somerset House.ÌýThe Princess Royal also recognised the contribution of several major patrons of The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ who were honoured as inaugural members of the Founders’ Circle.
